Brand development,
logo design

“A brand is a living entity—and it is enriched or undermined cumulatively over time, the product of a thousand small gestures.” So says Michael Eisner, former CEO of Disney.

What, then, is a logo? Isn’t that your brand?

The purpose of a logo is to identify. That’s all. Think of it as a visual version of your first name. We all refer to you by using your first name, over and over and over. But your name isn’t you. It only reminds us of your personality, your character, your humor, the color of your hair, the argument we had, on and on. A thousand small gestures. Your logo is a symbol that quickly reminds people of their experiences (good and bad) from interactions with you.

Whether your goal is to grow awareness through brand development, repetition and consistency—or simply to give your organization some visual polish with a logo/identity framework…we should talk. I specialize in helping start-ups, non-profits, and small businesses establish and promote their brand identity, and in helping large organizations establish and adhere to brand guidelines.

Note that the Carroll University logo example below was not implemented by the institution. It’s a submission made to my alma mater when they were considering a rebrand.
